As a corner of the Mediterranean in an Alpine scenery, Lake Maggiore is a paradise that combines the mild climate and rich vegetation, with the majesty of mountains and the intimacy of valleys. The lake is an exceptional natural environment, where the mild climate is very close to the Mediterranean one, thanks to the morphology of the territory. Its favorable location and mild climate both in summer and winter have meant that along the banks have created many tourist countries. Like all pre-Alpine lakes, Lake Maggiore is the path, especially in summer, two types of prevailing winds, one in the morning that blows from the mountains to the plains (called moscendrino, sometimes tramontana) and a wind that blows from the plains to mountains especially during the afternoon (called inverna). These steady winds are the pre-alpine lakes area where a great effort in sports that use just the wind, such as sailing and windsurfing.
